What type of insurance do you accept?

We accept Aetna, Cigna, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Oxford, Oscar, Horizon Blue Cross/ Blue Shield of New Jersey, United Healthcare insurance from New York and New Jersey. Many other insurances through out-of network benefits. Thrizer works with virtually any health insurance in the United States. If your insurance plan has out-of-network benefits, they can help. For individuals, Thrizer works by acting as a payment method that links with your health insurance to verify how much your insurance will cover for out-of-network therapy. With Thrizer, you only pay your responsibility for your sessions while Thrizer wait, cover the rest of the fee and wait for reimbursement on your behalf.

What is Thrizer?

Thrizer is a payment app for therapy-goers and mental healthcare professionals that makes out-of-network therapy more accessible. Individuals can use Thrizer to pay what they owe for out-of-network therapy instead of paying their provider's full fee and waiting for insurance reimbursement. Typically, you would need to wait 4-6 weeks to receive these reimbursements. Thrizer can help you verify your out-of-network benefits and instantly reimburse you for sessions after you meet your deductible. They will deal with insurance and wait for reimbursements on your behalf!

How do I know if I have out-of-network benefits?

Once you enter your insurance information in Thrizer, the platform runs an automatic OON benefit check. Both you and your provider receive the email breakdown of the benefits, which include the deductible amount, co-insurance, and estimated reimbursement amount.

Alternatively, you can email Thrizer’s support team with your insurance card and they can check benefits for you as well!

What if I have deductible?

There is no fee for using Thrizer if you are working towards your deductible.
‍If you have a deductible, all payments for sessions will be used to meet the deductible. You will pay your provider's full fee and the payments will be applied to the deductible automatically.

Once you meet your deductible, you will automatically only be charged what your owe (your co-pay) for appointments, while Thrizer covers the rest and waits for reimbursement for you. The below fees will apply.

How is my co-pay calculated?

Your co-pay is calculated from your provider's fee, your reimbursement rate, and Thrizer's fee. The co-pay you are charged is equal to Provider Fee - Reimbursement Rate + Thrizer Fee.

In other words, you are only charged what you owe for sessions (plus a Thrizer fee), rather than paying the provider's full fee and waiting for reimbursement from your insurance.

For example, if your provider's fee is $200 and your insurance covers $175, with Thrizer you will only be charged $35 per appointment. You owe $25 (the portion that insurance does not cover) and Thrizer's fee is $10 (5% of provider's fee for fronting the remaining $175).

What is cost for using Thrizer?

For individuals, Thrizer is a flat 5% fee (of the provider's rate) for those who use Thrizer Pay to pay what you owe at the time of the appointment instead of the provider's full fee. This fee is added on to your co-pay at the time of payment. If your prefer to pay in full and wait for reimbursements, there is a 1% transfer fee incurred at the time of reimbursement, but no additional upfront costs.
For providers, the cost is a flat 3% payment processing fee for your transactions (charges) through Thrizer.

There are no monthly fees to use Thrizer! There are no fees like merchant fees, usage fees, claim fees, outside of the transaction fees described above.
